Agadir serves as the coastal gateway, while towns like Tiznit, Tafraoute, and Tata draw travellers seeking authentic culture and off-the-beaten-path trekking. A self-launched version of Discover Morocco Tours' 5-day Agadir–Tafraoute–Sidi Ifni loop, done entirely on local transport. You'll overnight in Agadir, ride a grand taxi or shared minibus into the almond-and-argan country of the Anti-Atlas to Tafraoute, then drop down to the faded Spanish-era seaside town of Sidi Ifni before looping back along the coast via Legzira's sea arches, Mirleft and the Berber jewellery sellers of Tiznit. Everything the operator includes — Kasbah Agadir Oufella, Tiznit's shoe and jewellery markets, the painted rocks, Kasbah Tizourgane, Legzira Beach — is doable independently for around a fifth of the package price. Costs are rough backpacker estimates in GBP, assuming a shared twin/double or dorm and local buses and shared taxis.
