Fly into Cape Town and settle into a backpackers in the city centre or lively Gardens area. Use the afternoon to acclimatise, wander the V&A Waterfront and grab a first meal of braai and local wine. Prep for the trip ahead and confirm your onward bus.

Take a self-organised Cape Peninsula day trip or hire a bike / scooter. Travel to the Namib Desert.
