5 Day Self-Launched Scottish Highland Adventure: Edinburgh to Inverness, Skye & Oban

Make your way from Edinburgh to Inverness — the most practical option is hiring a small car (split between travel companions, or solo from ~£40/day with fuel) or taking the ScotRail train from Edinburgh Waverley to Inverness (~£25-40 booked in advance). If driving, take the scenic A9 northward and stop at the iconic Forth Road Bridge and Forth Rail Bridge for photos — free to view from South Queensferry.
