A self-launched, 9-day independent version of the classic Svaneti trek through Georgia's Greater Caucasus. Fly into Kutaisi, ride the local marshrutka and mountain roads up to Becho and Mestia, then hike the legendary Mestia–Ushguli route (part of the Transcaucasian Trail) through Svan tower villages, over the Tetnuldi and Chkhutnieri passes, and out to the Adishi and Shkhara glaciers. Nights are in family-run guesthouses, meals are hearty Georgian mountain fare, luggage moves by local 4x4 where needed.
