Arrive in Cairo at any time. Check into a well-rated budget guesthouse or hostel in the Zamalek or Downtown area. Spend the evening exploring the neighbourhood, grabbing a street food dinner of koshari or foul, and getting your bearings. This is your base for the first couple of nights.

Celebrate with fellow travellers, then enjoy lunch on board. The afternoon is spent drifting south along the Nile towards Edfu — sit back and watch the feluccas and farmland pass by.
