You book the Cairo–Aswan sleeper train yourself, join a shared Nile cruise or budget felucca for the Aswan–Luxor leg, and pick up local guides (or self-guided entries) at Philae, Kom Ombo, Edfu, Karnak, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut's temple. Costs are approximate per person and assume budget guesthouses/hostels plus a shared-cabin Nile cruise.
