A self-launched version of Contiki's 11-day Vancouver & the Rockies loop: Sea-to-Sky Highway to Whistler, Sun Peaks, Jasper and Maligne Canyon, the Columbia Icefield Parkway, Banff, Yoho and Glacier national parks, then the Okanagan Valley back to Vancouver. Instead of a coach and trip manager, you'll string together the SkyLynx shuttle, the Rider Express/Sun Dog intercity buses (or a shared rental car if you're travelling with others), hostel dorms and budget hotels, and self-bookable gondolas, rafting, glacier tours and cruises. Costs below assume independent-format hostels/budget hotels in high season with some self-catering — bookings in peak July/August and a rental car can push costs up.
