The Stubai Valley (Stubaital) is a glacial valley in the Tyrolean Alps of Austria, stretching roughly 35 kilometres south of Innsbruck into the heart of the Stubai Alps. It is best known for the Stubai Glacier (Stubaier Gletscher), one of Austria's largest ski areas, offering year-round skiing and snowboarding at altitudes above 3,200 metres. Beyond winter sports, the valley draws hikers and mountaineers in summer, with well-marked trails, alpine huts, and dramatic peaks including Zuckerhütl, the highest summit in the Stubai Alps. Its easy access from Innsbruck and the Brenner motorway makes it a popular base for both day-trippers and longer alpine adventures.

This self-launched version follows the same 8-day single-centre itinerary based in Neustift-Milders, tackling the same trails across the Elfer massif, Stubai Glacier, Schlick 2000, and the Kartnall valley. Swap the included 4* hotel for a comfortable 3* guesthouse or Pension (plenty of excellent options in Neustift), buy the Stubai Super Card independently (it's publicly available and covers free buses and cable car discounts), use the free Komoot or AllTrails apps instead of a paid navigation app, and self-cater lunches from local bakeries and mountain huts.
