Instead of 4-5 star hotels and a private guide, you'll use Hong Kong hostels and Guangdong guesthouses/train-station hotels, ride the high-speed rail and intercity buses, and self-book the same headline sights (Nanyue King Tomb, Chen Clan Academy, Fengjian Water Town, Kaiping diaolou, Dinghu Mountain, Gulong Canyon glass walkway, Chuantian Tiankeng and Mt Danxia).
