Kythnos is a small Cycladic island in the western Aegean Sea, situated between Kea and Serifos, roughly two hours by ferry from Athens' port of Piraeus. Known locally as "Thermia" for its thermal springs at Loutra, the island draws visitors seeking authentic Greek island life largely untouched by mass tourism. Its coastline is dotted with quiet coves and beaches — including the famous double bay of Kolona, one of the most photographed beaches in the Cyclades.
