Easter Island, known in the indigenous language as Rapa Nui, is a remote volcanic island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean and a special territory of Chile, lying roughly 3,700 kilometres from the Chilean mainland. It is world-famous for its nearly 1,000 monumental stone statues called moai, carved by the Rapa Nui people between the 13th and 16th centuries and scattered across the island at ceremonial platforms known as ahu. Beyond archaeology, the island draws travellers for its dramatic coastal scenery, snorkelling and diving in exceptionally clear waters, hiking to volcanic craters like Rano Kau and Terevaka, and a deeply unique Polynesian culture preserved far from any other inhabited land. Its extraordinary isolation — it is one of the most remote inhabited places on Earth — gives it an atmosphere found nowhere else.

Missions
Nobody's posted a Mission for Easter Island (Rapa Nui), Chile yet — which, frankly, is an opportunity.
Wait, what's a Mission? It's not a scheduled trip with dates and a minimum group size like a Departure — it's a goal. Learn to dive, do a Muay Thai camp, live somewhere for a month and work on something, chase one very specific experience. Post it, and other people chasing the same thing find you.
Be the first to post one: "Learn a completely impractical skill from a local — fire spinning, competitive coconut opening, whatever — and become weirdly good at it."
