Dolomites National Park Trek — Self-Launched Hiking Week

A self-launched version of Traventuria's 7-day Dolomites hiking week, running from Niederdorf/Toblach in Hochpustertal through Lake Prags (Lago di Braies) and the Prato Piazza plateau to Cortina d'Ampezzo and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Instead of a packaged self-guided tour with luggage transfers and pre-booked hotels, you book the same guesthouses and rifugi yourself, use the excellent Südtirol/Dolomiti public bus network (SAD, Dolomiti Bus, Cortina Express) plus the Cortina–Dobbiaco railway, and follow the same well-marked trails (routes 1, 4, 6, 9, 101, 222) marked at every junction. Costs are approximate backpacker/budget-traveller estimates in GBP per person and assume two people sharing a room where relevant; solo travellers can do it too, with dorm beds in rifugi keeping costs down.
