A self-launched version of STM Tours' 7-day Brussels loop, hitting Antwerp, the WWII Battle of the Bulge sites around Bastogne, the WWI battlefields of Flanders Fields, Ghent and Bruges, plus a day trip to Luxembourg City and Dinant. Everything the group tour covers by coach is doable independently on Belgium's excellent (and cheap) rail network, using Brussels as a fixed base — no repacking, no 45-person coach queue. Book day tours for the two battlefield days (these are genuinely hard to do without a vehicle) and self-guide the rest with walking routes, tram passes and canal boats. Budget estimate is per person sharing a hostel/budget hotel dorm; costs are approximate and exclude international flights.
