Cycle the Balkans — Self-Launched

An independent, self-launched version of Intrepid's 8-day Cycle the Balkans trip: Dubrovnik → Bay of Kotor → Nikšić → Durmitor → Mostar → Sarajevo on two wheels. You'll book a bike locally (or bring your own), load the routes onto Komoot/RideWithGPS, and use local buses and a couple of short private transfers instead of a guided support van. All the headline riding stays — the Bay of Kotor loop, the climb to Sedlo Pass, the flat Ćiro Trail rail-trail along the Neretva and the downhill spin into Sarajevo — but you ride at your own pace, sleep in hostels and guesthouses, and eat where the locals eat. Costs are rough, hostel-dorm-to-budget-private-room estimates based on summer 2026 rates.
