A self-launched version of the Annapurna Base Camp helicopter day tour from Pokhara. Instead of paying an operator for a packaged group flight, you book a shared helicopter seat directly with a Pokhara-based aviation operator (or join a seat-share group through a Pokhara trekking agency or hostel noticeboard). You fly from Pokhara Airport over the Modi River valley and the Annapurna Circuit trail, land at Annapurna Base Camp for around 25 minutes to acclimatise and take in Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna and Dhaulagiri, then return to Pokhara.
