A self-launched version of Eurocycle Adventures' 13-day Alps-to-Adriatic ride: Salzburg's festival streets, the Gastein valley, Hohenwerfen Castle, the Drau and Alpe-Adria cycle paths, Antonini-style trattoria lunches in Friuli, then the Parenzana trail through Slovenia and Istria to finish at Pula's Roman amphitheatre. You ride ~60-80km a day, self-carry in panniers, and sleep in hostels and guesthouses. Book bike hire direct, use trains and local buses for the two transfer legs, and follow GPS routes on Komoot.
