An independent, self-launched version of G Adventures' "Alaska Kenai & Denali Adventure" — same route (Anchorage → Seward → Talkeetna → Denali → Anchorage) but built around Alaska's public transport, hostel and budget-lodge stays, and self-bookable activities. You'll take the Alaska Railroad and Park Connection bus instead of a private group vehicle, hike the Exit Glacier area in Kenai Fjords, cruise the fjords independently, and ride a park shuttle deep into Denali. Note: Alaska is genuinely expensive with very limited budget accommodation, so costs are higher than typical backpacker regions — book lodging and the Denali shuttle well in advance (park shuttle seats sell out fast in summer). All figures are approximate per person.
